Jomtien German Restaurant Scorched By Fire

A fire of uSearchnknown origin caused about 200,000 baht in damage to a luxury German restaurant in a Jomtien business complex. Firefighters took about 15 minutes to extinguish the fire. An alert security guard’s prompt actions to fight the fire and notify authorities helped to limit the fire’s spread.
PATTAYA – October 8, 2012 [PDN]: at 2:45 a.m., a report of a fire in a Jomtien business complex was received by Pol. Lt. Col. Chalermkiat Sirimark, detective inspector of Muang Pattaya police station, sub branch Dongtarl. Police rushed to the scene while calling 5 fire trucks from the Disaster Prevention and Mitigation office, and the rescue team of Sawang Boriboon Dhammasatharn, Pattaya.
The fire was burning at the Jomtien business complex project of Siam Bis Co. Ltd., located on 413/51-53, moo 12, Nongprue, Banglamung, Chonburi. Police and firefighters arrived at the scene, a 4-story business building that rented units in the 2nd and the 4th floors.
The fire was burning on the ground floor, inside a luxury German restaurant that was lavishly furnished. Flames were blazing in the beverage bar area and there was a lot of smoke. Firefighters sprayed water for 15 minutes until the fire was extinguished. The damage to property inside the restaurant included desks, chairs and electronic equipment. A preliminary estimate of the damages was about 200,000 baht.
Police questioned the building’s security guard who discovered the fire, Mr. Somporn Wongwicha, age 38. He told police that while he was checking the area, he heard an explosive sound like a bomb had detonated in the restaurant. Many startled people rushed to the area to check on the noise.
Then Mr. Somporn saw the flames burning in the restaurant. So he acted hastily and called the owner, and then grabbed a fire extinguisher to battle the fire. Then he hurriedly called the police.
After the fire was extinguished, the police took photos and records for evidence. Also at the scene to check the damage was the German owner of the restaurant, Mr. John Darker, age 63.Tags :
