    As Don Muang Airport opens for domestic services once again, Thailand‘s main airport regulator, Admiral Bannawit Kengrian, has hinted that international flights may well soon again be on the agenda for Don Muang. A detailed plan of refurbishment is to be put to the Airports of Thailand at their forthcoming meeting, Admiral Bannawit said. This will include renovating passenger lounges for international flights and proposals for services for international airlines.

    Bangkok’s old airport, Don Muang is due to reopen on Sunday March 25th after being restricted to private and charter flights for over 6 months, since September 28th. However, it has now lost its privileged code name, no longer designated BKK, which has now been taken over by Suvarnabhumi, Don Muang’s new designation is DMK. Ms Kalaya Pakakrong, the Acting President of Airports of Thailand (AoT) urged passengers to check the codes on their tickets to avoid confusion.
