A destructive tropical storm has hit parts of Northern Thailand over the last 24 hours; the storm is a downgraded version of Typhoon Conson, which struck the Philippines late last week. A former US Navy serviceman was arrested, over the weekend, in connection with the brutal stabbing murder of Miss Wanphen Pienjai, a Phuket bargirl. Initially denying the charges the 37-year-old American has since admitted his guilt explaining that it was a “terrible accident”.
