Pattaya, August 4,[PDN]: On the 3rd August 2009 a German man was found dead in a house in central Pattaya. Police have not specified whether it was suicide or if foul play is suspected. The house was found to have been cleared of all its contents.

Pattaya, August 3 [PDN]: On 31st July 2009, Two Chinese tourists tricked their way out of a department store situated in a Central Beach Pattaya shopping mall with a one Carat diamond ring, costing 230.000 baht, but unknown to them, their actions were recorded on a CCTV.

Pattaya, July 29,[PDN]: an Australian tourist, walking along Pattaya Beach Road, was solicited by a katoey (ladyboy) who, when rejected, picked the tourist’s pocket, stealing Bt2,200, which he passed to an accomplice. The tourist retaliated and, in the fight which ensued, was knifed by the katoey, but still managed to detain the robber till police arrived.

Pattaya – 27 July [ PDN] : The recent arrest and conviction of seven members of the Border Patrol Police (BPP) Taskforce, led by Pol. Captain Nat Cholnithiwanit, is being hailed as a victory for true justice and has given the new Thai government an opportunity to demonstrate it can hold abusers to account.

On the evening of 25th July 2009 police carried out raids on go go bars in the Pattaya and Jomtien areas. 4 staff tested positive for drugs and 2 dancing girls were identified as being under the legal age limit .

Pattaya, July 24[PDN] An owner-developer totally freaked out on 23 July, 2009, after being threatened and then actually bombed. A bomb was thrown into his condo building, but luckily, did not explode. The suspect was his former contractor.

Pattaya, July 22 [PDN] : Once more Pattaya has attracted bad press due to the less than savoury activities of some of its residents. Two paedophiles were both arrested in the same location, Park Reungreung Village, on the same day, with two consecutive arrest warrants for sexual assault on minors; one for a German and the other for a British national.

Pattaya,July 21,[PDN]: a vengeful teenage gang has been terrorizing a family in Soi Nerplubwan, following a minor altercation. The victims were shot at on 21 July, 2009, and previously threatened with knives by the gang, who are believed to be minions of a local Civil Protection volunteer. The victim is also completely dissatisfied with the police response, declaring the area “lawless”.

Pattaya, July 20 [PDN] : A 15-year-old boy thief, who confessed to having robbed a total of 23 houses, was arrested in Sattahip, on18 July, 2009, after having yet again broken into three separate houses on the same estate in one night. The boy, although a juvenile, had only just been released from prison.

Pattaya, 15 July [PDN] : In the early hours of 15th July 2009 a French tourist was badly beaten and robbed by a gang of Thai men on Pattaya Beach Road. It is believed the attack was planned, and involved a prostitute with whom the man had just had sex.

Pattaya, July 15th [PDN] : As an update to the PDN report of 10th July, Pattaya police have managed to re-capture a prisoner who escaped from custody at the Pattaya Court on the 9th July while being transferred with several other prisoners to a truck which would take them to the Nong Pla Lai prison.

Pattaya,July 14 [PDN]: During the early hours of 13th July, at 03.00 am, Mr Satomura Toshimusu,[56], a Japanese national and his friend, filed a complaint to Pattaya police investigator,Pol. Lt. Col. Polgrit Kumsatien that he had been robbed by a Thai lady.

Pattaya, July 11 [PDN]: On 11th July 2009 at 6.00 am, Chonburi police investigator Pol. Lt. Col. Chaigrit Tonginn and his team gave a statement to the Media that they had arrested a Canadian national, Mr. Andrew Donald aged 34, and Miss Anusara Ronpimai aged 24 from Nakornratchsima. Both were found to be in possession of Narcotics.

Pattaya, July 10 [PDN]: At 7.30 pm on 9th July 2009, the Pattaya deputy superintendent Pol. Lt. Col. Chonnapat Nawaluk, was notified from the Pattaya court police that two prisoners were trying to escape. One was rearrested, whilst the other managed to elude police.
