A Russian couple with the help of bystanders caught a 35-year-old Thai man on a motorbike who tried to snatch the woman’s handbag near Soi Pattaya Park. The couple fought the man, whose bike fell to the ground as he tried to escape. Bystanders helped capture the thief.

Two teen boys on motorbikes were shot nearly 30 times by an armed rival gang but survived their injuries. The victims were part of a group of 20 teens riding back from a car fair in Laem Chabang. However, a rival gang in South Pattaya began chasing and beating them and shooting at them.

A 25-year-old former soldier apparently high on drugs twice entered a military woman’s home in Sattahip. He was arrested after the first illegal entry. But he was set free the next day, and invaded her house again with a knife and destroyed her property while she was away.

A man with a fake Norwegian passport was arrested on charges of renting motorbikes from Pattaya shops and never returning them. Police assumed the man had sold the rental bikes for cash. He was confirmed as the thief by motorbike rental owners who never got their motorbikes back.

Chonburi immigration police arrested a 56-year-old Australian for posting nude photographs of a Thai woman on the Internet, in an apparent extortion attempt. The woman said the nude photos destroyed her reputation and notified police. The man denied trying to blackmail her.

A couple who worked as school janitors at a Rayong school were arrested for selling amphetamines and ya-ice to students and teens in the area. The couple told police that their custodial jobs did not provide enough income, so they resorted to selling drugs to help pay for daily living expenses.

The Thai police arrested a 39-year-old Trang man for killing a Japanese woman in Tokyo nearly 20 years ago. The statute of limitations was nearly set to expire. The suspect had been her paid gigolo, but killed her in a fit of rage after she angrily called him a dog on the street and spat on him.
