A brother and sister from Kalasin province were arrested by Sattahip police for operating a brothel with Laotian prostitutes. The Laotian woman were between ages 19-24, and had entered Thailand legally on tourist visas. The 10 arrested Laotians all wanted to work as prostitutes, the suspects said.
An African couple was arrested at a Kasikorn Bank branch after the woman tried to open a bank account using a fake passport, in order to receive and send illegal money to foreign countries. Her husband’s passport also showed that his Thai visa had expired.

A 53-year-old Russian woman had her purse snatched by a young couple on a motorbike in south Pattaya. She was walking back to her hotel when the female motorbike passenger grabbed her purse. An Udon Thani bus driver was arrested by police and charged with raping a 7-year-old girl in the toilet of the bus. The incident reportedly occurred about six months ago, when the bus was parked at the Udon Thani bus terminal.
