An 18-year-old woman was raped by her stepdad while sleeping at his house. The victim’s mother had to go upcountry, and was afraid to leave her daughter alone. So she told her daughter to stay at the house of her new stepdad. But later that night he raped her daughter in the bedroom.

A Russian couple was caught red-handed trying to steal a 300 THB cellphone cover at a Tukcom shop on south Pattaya road. The couple refused to pay for the phone cover and insisted they did not steal it. But after police were called, the couple paid a 3,000 THB fine to avoid arrest.

A brother and sister from Kalasin province were arrested by Sattahip police for operating a brothel with Laotian prostitutes. The Laotian woman were between ages 19-24, and had entered Thailand legally on tourist visas. The 10 arrested Laotians all wanted to work as prostitutes, the suspects said.

An African couple was arrested at a Kasikorn Bank branch after the woman tried to open a bank account using a fake passport, in order to receive and send illegal money to foreign countries. Her husband’s passport also showed that his Thai visa had expired.

Pattaya police cracking down on crime arrested seven young Thai males for ganja possession. Police in Na Kleu had stopped two suspicious-looking teens on a motorbike, and found a bag of marijuana during a body search. They arrested the pair, along with five Thai teens waiting to buy the ganja.

A 57-year-old Danish man was arrested after trying to drive through a police checkpoint near Pratumnak Hill. The drunk Dane was fleeing from an accident in Jomtien. Police shot out two tires on his pickup truck and arrested him. However, one officer was hit by a stray bullet in his knee.

A man was killed after being dragged more than 100 meters by a pickup truck that hit him while he was walking on a footpath by Sukhumvit Road. The unidentified victim suffered numerous broken bones and was dead at the scene. Police are trying to track down the driver of the truck.

A broken motorcycle chain led to the arrests of a Thai couple for burglarizing a Sattahip grocery store. A CCTV recorded the suspects during the burglary, and later their motorcycle chain broke only 200 meters from the crime scene. They told police they needed money to buy powdered milk for their baby.

A 53-year-old Russian woman had her purse snatched by a young couple on a motorbike in south Pattaya. She was walking back to her hotel when the female motorbike passenger grabbed her purse. The driver twisted the victim’s arm when she resisted. The theft is the third robbery of Russian tourists within the last month.

An Udon Thani bus driver was arrested by police and charged with raping a 7-year-old girl in the toilet of the bus. The incident reportedly occurred about six months ago, when the bus was parked at the Udon Thani bus terminal. The suspect denied the accusations and told police he only accompanied the girl in the toilet.

A 46-year-old beauty shop owner who lived alone in the back of her shop was raped and killed in her bedroom by an intruder. Police suspect a lone assailant had broken in through the back door of the shop after crossing the roof deck of a nearby building.
