CHONBURI – October 4, 2012 [PDN]: This year’s Chonburi buffalo racing event will be held from October 16 to November 1. Besides the buffalo races, a racing day highlight will include a parade of 13 carts telling the parts of Vessantara Jataka story displayed on the carts. There will also be a “healthy buffalo” competition, a farm girl pageant competition, and local Thai sports such as hoop takraw, jumping jacks, and kite-making.

Making a generous donation to the festival was Mr.Witaya Khunpluem, the president of Chonburi provincial administrative organization. He donated 2 million baht to help fund the festival and uphold the tradition of the buffalo racing of Muang Chonburi municipality in the peaceful spirit of goodwill toward everyone.

It would be nice to know exactly where the races will be held. I have been waiting for the announcement of the races, but now this is no map or location. Really how does one expect visitors to attend. At least I found the article from last year that has the phone numbers, I can try and call those.
