AoT president Anirut Thanomkulbutra spoke of the progress in water management at the airport and its vicinity that AoT and the Royal Thai Air Force have jointly prepared in readiness to deal with possible floods around the airport’s premises.
Flood embankment walls of 3.85 metres high are being built and expected to be complete by the end of the month.
AoT also prepared better water pumps to drain around one million cubic metres of water out of the airport, while water-wells have been dredged deeper to support water at the capacity of as well up to one million cubic metres.
Airports of Thailand will cooperate with the Rural Roads Department, Bangkok City Hall, and the State Railway of Thailand on water draining readiness and preparedness.
