PATTAYA – July 30, 2012 [PDN]; A prostitution arrest was announced at the police command unit of subduing for human trade by Pol. Maj. Gen. Chawalit Sawaengpeuch, Pol. Col. Yuthaphum Punlainark, and Pol. Lt. Col. Choosak Kaythong.
Arrested was Ms. Tassanee Thongwan, 23, who is charged with human trade violations. She was arrested at the Paradise A Go Go shop, address 33/83-84 Moo 10 Tambon Nong Preu, Amphur Banglamung, Chonburi province.
A prior investigation by a detective police team uncovered an operation to sell the sexual services of women at the A Go Go shop. The police then set up a sting entrapment by agreeing to pay 1,600 THB to “Ms. Nid” (alias), age 16, for sexual services.
Of that amount, Ms. Nid would get 1,000 THB and the shop owner 600 THB. The sexual services were to take place in the room of a building opposite the shop. After paying the money, police arrested the defendant with the cash and a condom for evidence.
Ms. Tassanee told police that her duty is to take care of the shop by recruiting the women as staff and to ask about their history. Ms. Nid had claimed to be 19-years-old, and nearly age 20, so she was hired to work.
Ms. Tassanee said she never forced her staff to sell sexual services, and any agreement they made with customers was their own private arrangement that the shop did not get involved with.
However, police restrained the defendant to send to the investigation officer to prosecute further according to the law.
