Police Crash Big Drug Party At Sattahip Beach

More than two dozen young adults and teens were busted by police at Samaesarn Beach in Sattahip for openly drinking alcohol and using methamphetamines. A total of 22 people were arrested after their urine tests showed traces of drugs in their systems. All of them had been previously arrested for drug use.

SATTAHIP – July 29, 2012 [PDN]; At 3:30 p.m., Mr. Pawat Lertmookda, Sattahip sheriff, Chonburi province, was notified by local residents that a large group of teenagers were using drugs at Samaesarn Beach near the Seethong beach shop, Moo 4, Tambon Samaesarn, Amphur Sattahip, Chonburi province. So he commanded Mr. Chawat Theptap and his subordinates to mobilize special operations forces of the center of suppressing drugs to inspect the scene.

At Samaesarn Beach, police found about 25 males and females between the ages of 14 to 25 who were openly drinking liquor and consuming amphetamines. The officers restrained everyone present, along with the drugs and equipment they were using to consume the amphetamines.

Later urine testing showed “violet” urine that revealed the presence of drugs in 22 people: 3 females and 19 males. Four of them were minors under the age of 18. The officers restrained all of the suspects to investigate further.

Sheriff Pawat Lertmookda said that all the defendants are repeat drug offenders. They had been previously arrested and had been required to attend a drug-rehabilitation camp set up by the Chonburi provincial governor to give them another opportunity to be good citizens.

However, the arrested young people again resumed their drug behavior despite the opportunity they were given at the camp. So, the Sattahip sheriff sent them to the investigation officer at Sattahip police station to prosecute on charges of consuming amphetamines.
