An X-ray computerised tomography scan of the monarch’s brain revealed minute subdural bleeding in the left frontal area. After medication was given intravenously last night the seizure disappeared, according to the bureau’s announcement No 52.
This morning his physicians reported that His Majesty had normal movement of his right hand and that his heart beat and blood pressure are normal.
The committee of royal physicians has requested that His Majesty cease royal activities for a period of time, the statement said.
The 84-year-old monarch was admitted to Siriraj Hospital in Sept 2009 with fever, fatigue and a lung inflammation.
King Bhumibol has since recovered but has remained in hospital ever since for nourishment to regain his strength.
