PATTAYA – July 10, 2012 [PDN]; At 1 p.m. at Central Festival Pattaya Beach department store, Pattaya Beach Road, Chonburi province, Mr.Pongsak Preechavit, Deputy Chonburi provincial governor; Mr. ItthipholKunpleum, Pattaya Lord Mayor; Mr. Chaiwat Tamthai, Assistant Director of the Tourism Authority of Thailand; and Mr. Suchart Jaesuraphap, committee and treasurer of Athletics Authority of Thailand; together announced the details of the 21st annual Pattaya Marathon.
The “King Cup Pattaya Marathon 2012” will feature runners and wheelchair racers competing for the King Cup and cash rewards totaling more than 2 million THB. Many honored guests and reporters will be in attendance.
The competition of King Cup Pattaya Marathon 2012 this year will be held on July 15, with the first race starting at 4:20 a.m. in front of Central Festival Pattaya beach department store. The competition is divided into 5 categories: Marathon type distance (42.195 km), Half-Marathon distance (21.1 km), Quarter-Marathon distance (10.55 km), Student runners (male-female), distance (3.5km.), and Wheelchair Marathon distance (42.195 km).
Marathon runners from all over the world are expected to join the competition. It promises to be an exciting spectacle for tourists and residents of Pattaya to watch and cheer.
