PATTAYA – July 5, 2012 [PDN]; Pol. Capt. Netithorn Rattanasuchanan, Pattaya police station found Mr. Panupong Chinchet, 25 address: 46 Moo 6 Borabeu, Mahasarakam province carrying a black carry all bag he had stolen from the beach.
At the same time a foreigner named Mr. Yianer Peter, 38, nationality Germany told the police that Mr. Panupong had stolen his bag while he was swimming in the sea. Mr. Panupong was arrested and the bag was returned to the victim.
When the victim checked in his bag, he found everything was there. Inside the bag there were only clothes and cash: 1,000 THB. The victim was happy and thanked the police.
The police told him that he should not swim in the sea at night because of dangerous currents and risk of the theft.
Later the police body searched Mr. Panupong but didn’t find any illegal items.
Mr. Panupong confessed that he had stolen the victim’s bag. He said that before the incident occurred he sat on the beach and offered sexual services to foreigners on the beach.
When he saw the victim went for a swim in the sea he stole his bag and while searching it he was arrested by the police.
Mr. Panupong claimed that this was the first time he had done it.But the police did not believe him.
Mr. Panupong was detained and he will be further investigated and his criminal record will be checked.
