Algerian Hotel Thief Nabbed in Central Pattaya Mall After Hard Chase

Pattaya police closed off part a Pattaya mall to catch an Algerian criminal who was on-the-run after sneaking into Kuwaiti tourist’s room and stealing valuables worth 100,000 THB. The man hunt was on for two hours before the 39 years-old North African thief was apprehended.

PATTAYA – June 14, 2012 [PDN]; Pol.Capt.Jamras Thongjinda, Pattaya police and his team arrested Mr. Nadir Ladmia, 39-years-old Algerian who after breaking into Mr.Fahad Hamdan Marzoug 23-years-old Kuwaiti and Mr. Khaled Mahamed 29-years-old Kuwaiti tourists hotel room. The theft occurred in Eurasia Hotel, South Pattaya.

The Algerian had lied to the hotel staff that he was the a friend of the Kuwaitis and managed to get into their hotel room.

Once inside he opened safe box stole 30,000 THB, a lap top , ID-cards and Kuwaiti’s ATM cards and put everything in the victim’s luggage and walked out.

The theft took place on June 1 at 05:20 hours. The suspect escaped on a motorcycle but was recorded by the hotel’s CCTVs.

After leaving the hotel he went straight to the ATM and withdraw all the money about 200,000 THB.

Later the victims reported the theft to Pol.Capt.Chaleaw Boonkoom, Pattaya police station.

A day later a friend of the victims reported that he saw the Algerian riding a motorcycle Bua Khaw, in Pattaya, The police in hot pursuit. Thief trying to shake off the police.

Finally he jumped off the bike in Central Festival Pattaya beach area and fled in to the mall. But the shopping mall had already closed. The police blocked all the exists and searched two hours for criminal and found him on the ground floor hiding in the promotion area.

He was handcuffed and and taken to Pattaya police station.

The police collected all the evidence: the CCTV footage and the bank documents from the ATMs transactions. The Algerian hotel room thief awaits further investigation and prosecution.
