SATTAHIP – June 8, 2012 [PDN]; Pol. Lt. Naret Boonthee, Sattahip police station, Chonburi province was notified about a drowning incident at Dongtarn bay in front of the welcome building, Sattahip naval base, Sattahip, Chonburi.
A police and rescue team were sent to the scene where the the sea level was rising, wave height almost 2 meters and strong winds.
On the beach in the heavy waves the police found a group of five drunken teenagers jumping into the sea to help their friend who had drowned.

Later one of them was found exhausted but alive. He was identified as Mr. Jarepat Srijanteuk, age 19. The jealous guy.
Nearby the officers found two more teens already dead.
They were identified as: Ms. Benjaporn Klinjaeng age 18 and Ms. Vassana Chaihong age 18. Still two missing teenagers: Mr. Saharat Toomraya age 17 and Mr. Morakot Pramual age 19.
The rescue divers searched for the drowned teenagers for more than two hours but could not find them and had to stop the search due to the high waves and the strong winds.

Upon questioning Mr. Ratchanan Phongtawee, age 17, one of the survivors said that, before incident occurred he and his friends were drinking alcohol in a pub in Baan Taotarn area. After the pub closed the group continued to drink in front of Sattahip District Administration.
Mr. Pichit Keakkuthan, the head of the rescue team said that a teenager came rushing to ask for help, saying that people had drowned in the sea.
The rescue team arrived with the divers and saw that Mr. Jarepat was floating with in the waves exhausted while a group of friends were screaming and about to jump into sea to help their friend.
The officer Mr. Pichit forbade them but no one listened to him and they all jumped into the sea to help Mr. Jarepat but the waves were high and four of them drowned.
The police reported that later in the early morning the two missing bodies were discovered.
