CSD deputy commander Pol Col Apichart Sirisith said since Mr Karun has refused to leave his vehicle, he had ordered police investigators to seek a search warrant from the court to force open the vehicle to make him acknowledge additional charges related to the seizure of Don Mueang and Suvarnabhumi airports in late 2008 by the People’s Alliance for Democracy (PAD) or the so-called Yellow Shirts.
Mr Karun affirmed he would not step out of his pick-up truck nor sign documents to acknowledge police charges, as he claimed the charges were unlawful and that he had already heard the charges previously.
Following prosecutors’ orders, police wanted to press further charges on the former senator for damages caused to the airports’ facilities and services.
