PATTAYA – April 28, 2012 [PDN]; Pol. Col. Somneuk Jankate, Banglamung police station, Chonburi province was notified about a fire in Soi Nong Jae Bang behind Wat Thamsamakkee, South Pattaya.
Five fire trucks were sent to scene where an abandoned house was found burnt down and four adjacent houses on fire.The officers had to break the front wall and the side wall to spray water in order to stop fire.The fire fighters needed another 30 minutes to be able to control the fire.
Upon inspection the police found that the property from the 4 houses such as furniture, electrical appliances, etc. were destroyed in the fire. The cost of the damaged items approximately 1 million THB.Besides, there were 3 dogs trapped in the buildings. The canines were burnt alive. But, fortunately no people died or were injured.

The eye witness Mrs. Dokmai Nongyai age 45 one of the neighbours who witnessed the incident said that, before the fire occurred she heard an explosion at the house of Mr. Chaleaw, occupation contractor.
At the time of the explosion Mr.Chaleaw was not at home. He was working in Chonburi. After the explosion the fire burnt rapidly and destroyed one house after the other.
The locals from the houses nearby tried to put out the fire but to no avail. So they called the police and the fire-brigade for assistance.
The police cordoned off the area. A forensic investigation will be carried to find the cause of the fire. The police assumes that the fire is fire is due an electrical-short circuit.
