PATTAYA – April 19, 2012 [PDN]; At 05.50 Pol. Lt. Thanakorn Ngarmyen, Police Officer on duty at Pattaya Police Station was notified that a car had collided with a motorbike that had caused 1 person to die and 1 person injured. The incident occurred at the beginning of Soi Kor Phai 8, South Pattaya, Moo 10 Tambon Nongprue, Amphur Banglamung, Chonburi Province, Police Officers rushed to investigate with Rescue Officer from the Sawangboribul Pattaya Foundation.
At the incident was a bronze Toyota Vios, license number KOR YOR-6430 Chonburi, which was severely damaged after colliding with a red/black, YAMAHA, Fino motorbike, with a red license number 8-739 Pattaya. The Toyota Vios, had hit the motorbike with such force as too break the motorbike in half and the motorbike rider died immediately. The passenger was severely injured and in a coma, he was transported to Pattaya Memorial hospital.
The Police Officer inspected the body of the motorbike rider and saw that the body had suffered a fractured skull, broken arms and legs, torn clothes and scratch wounds all over the body, the blood had spread out all over the road, upon searching in the body found the notebook of the conscript indicated name of Soldier Traechai Hongthong age 26, conscript ( belong to soldier Amphur Muang, Sakonnakorn Province) address 83 Moo 6 Tambon Beungneau, Amphur Sawangdaendin, Sakonnakorn Province so the police took a photograph and made a note.
The Police arrested Soldier, Theeraphol Kongcharoen age 23, conscript, Royal Thai Army who was the car driver and he was drunk, he stated that he was driving back home after celebrating Songkran Festival Wan Lai Na Kleu with his friends before colliding with a motorbike and said that he was not drunk because he just drank a little bit and showed off that he is in the Royal Thai Army, the Police restrained him and took him to Pattaya Police Station to Further their investigations.
Upon asking the witnesses, they stated that they saw Soldier Theeraphol, drive his car swiftly and it appeared that he was drunk and then collided with the motorbike severely until the motorbike crashed with the electricity pole that caused the rider to die instantly and the passenger which was a Thai male was severely injured. After the incident occurred, Soldier Theeraphol parked the car and got out of the car and was shouting drunkenly and was arrested by the Police. Initially, the police believed that Soldier Theeraphol, went to travel to Wan Lai Na Kleu on April 18 with friends and drank alcoholic liquor until he was drunk and drove at high speed until colliding with a motorbike and caused 1 person to die died and severely injure the motorbike passenger.
