The municipal district of Bang Phra, set up Songkran festival Wan Lai Bang Phra, paraded the God of Death, the only one tradition in the world that inherited for a long time.

BANG PHRA – April 18, 2012 [PDN]; At 14.00 the municipal district Bang Phra, Amphur Sri Racha, Chonburi province had paraded the God of Death from Khao Bang Phra to along Sukhumvit road and turn to around Bang Phra market to Bang Phra beach and did the worship ceremony to the God of Death and then floated the God of Death to the sea to release all of the wickedness.

 

In the parade there were many people from many community and the private sector had sent beautifully decorated cars to join the parade of God of Death and there were a lot of people came join the ceremony that made the parade long for 2 km and there were Mr. Somjate Katewattha, the Lord Mayor of Tambon Bang Phra with the members of the municipal district of Tambon Bangphra and Mr. Somsak Katewattha, the Chairman of the Subdistrict Administrative Organization Bang Phra joined in this parade, too.

Along the way, there were people splash the water due to it was Wan Lai Bang Phra, when paraded the God of Death to the beach, there was a worship ceremony of food and rice and allow the people to pay respect and asked for blessing to have the well being life and after the sunset, they will float the God of Death to the sea to release of suffering, sadness and bad luck. There were a lot of Bang Phra people joined the worship ceremony.
