SATTAHIP – April 18, 2012 [PDN]; At 05.20 on Pol. Capt. Aekkachai Mullee, Investigating Officer, Sattahip Police Station was notified that there was a women who had been severely beaten and she was residing at 136/35 Moo 8 Tambon Sattahip, Amphur Sattahip, Chonburi Province, Pol. Capt. Aekkachai Mullee rushed to the scene with Rescue Officer’s from the Sawangrojjanathammasathan Sattahip Foundation.
Upon arriving at the scene, there were a lot of people in front of the house, who appeared frightened, Ms. Samlee Sirisuwan, 61 years of age, had become drunk and she was shouting and crying for assistance after she was hit on her head with a walking stick by Mr. Somsak Sirisuwan, 68 years of age, who is her Husband. Her head was breeding all over her face and body. The Rescue Officer’s helped her by doing the first aid and took her to the Emergency Room at Queen Sirikit Hospital.
Later, the Police arrested Mr. Somsak, the husband and found that he was ill with paralysis of both his 2 legs and cannot walk properly and had to use a walking stick. Manusnun Sirisuwan, 12 years of age, who is a student of Primary School Grade 5, at Baan Taotan School, his Nephew is taking care of him.
Mr. Somsak, stated that his wife is always drunk and didn’t work and that during Songkran Festival she consumed a lot of alcoholic liquor, for 3 consecutive days. Upon returning home she had scolded their nephew and hit his head on a concrete pole until he sustained injuries. Upon seeing the abuse of his Nephew, he hit his Wife on her head 2 times with his walking stick. His Wife then ran out in to the street and asked for assistance from the people in the area, then Police Officers arrived at the scene.
Pol. Capt. Aekkachai Mullee, the Investigating Officer, stated that the Husband had confessed that he had beaten his wife because he wanted to protect his nephew. His Nephew also corroborated his version of events. The Police Officer released Mr. Somsak, without charge.
