PATTAYA – March 23, 2012 [PDN]; Pol. Lt. Col. Anuchet Kassomboon, Pattaya police was notified by a clerk from Eastiny Soi 7 – Pattyay beach road that, a foreigner had died in room # 608.
At the scene the police found the body of Mr. Paul Henry Lynch age 47, British subject, lying the floor. The deceased wore a short sleeve black shirt and blue jeans. There was a lot of coagulated blood from his nose, his mouth and on the floor. The police assumes that he had been dead for six hours.
Upon inspecting the room the police did not find any evidence of fighting and there were no wounds on the body of the deceased.
The corpse was sent the to the hospital for autopsy to determine the cause of death.
Pol. Lt. Col. Anuchet Kassomboon, Pattaya police said that, Mr. Paul Henry Lynch was a former police inspector. Lately he had been suffering from asthma & heart disease and resigned from the police force and travelled to Thailand.
He arrived in Pattaya on March 22, 2012 and checked at Eastiny Soi 7 at 14:00.
He died approximately at 02:00 on the night of March 23, 2012.
The police assumes that cause of death is massive heart failure or esophageal rupture.
The British embassy in Bangkok has been informed to contact the next of kin.
