3 Congo Crooks Caught with Fake Passports at Pattaya TESCO ATM

Thailand Transnational Crime Data Center officers arrested three Congolese nationals using fake passports to open bank & ATM accounts. The Kasikorn bank clerks became suspicious when the Congolese were depositing and withdrawing cash too many times. The police suspects money laundering.

PATTAYA – March 23, 2012 [PDN]; Pol.Lt.Col. Chiddeja Songhong, Pattaya police was notified by Mr.Sirichai Satitpaisal, Kasikorn bank, Pattaya Tesco Lotus branch about three foreigners using fake passports to open bank accounts.

Pol.Lt.Col. Chiddeja Songhong reported that, when his team arrived at the bank they found three African foreigners standing in front Kasikorn ATM, Tesco Lotus, South Pattaya branch.

The police asked for their passports which were issued to: Mr. ALEXANDER WALTER HEWSON,33-years-old Portugese national. He was carrying a bank book and an ATM card, Mr. GONAVATHIE PILLAY,33-years-old, Portugese citizen, with one bank book and one ATM card, issued by Thai Kasikorn bank and Mr. IAN DAVID COCKERILL, 33-years-old Portugese carrying a bank book and an ATM card also issued by Thai Kasikorn bank.

 

The police seized all the evidence and sent their passports to the Portugese embassy in Bangkok for verification. The travel documents were fake and three Congolese were arrested.
Upon investigation it was releaved that Mr. “Walter Hewson” – Portugese is actually Mr Bapa Ntmba Congolese citizen. Mr. “Gonavathie Pillay” – Portugese is Mr. Gloire Mukola Mbuyamba, Congolese national and Mr. “Ian David Cockerill” alias Nzry Mankasi Heritier is also Congolese.

Pol.Lt.Col.Chiddeja Songhong warned every commercial bank in Thailand to be aware of suspect foreigners opening bank accounts using fake passports.
