Pattaya, February 19, 2012 [PDN]; Pol. Col. Somneuk Jankate, Banglamung police station reported about the arrest of a murder suspect: Mr. Sanya Janthai, age 28 from 47 M 2, Fhaorai, Nongkai province.
In the morning of January 9, 2011 a corpse was discovered in a septic tank at the construction worker’s camp in Soi 8, Sukhumvit, Pattaya beside PTT petrol pump near Baan Sukhavadee M2, Tambon Na Klua, Chonburi province.
The dead man found in the septic tank Mr. Vimol Kumkaew age 33, the foreman at the construction sitein Pattaya. The victim had suffered violent blows to his head. His property; a Honda Civic sedan, a gold necklace weight 3 THB and a mobile phone was missing.
A witnesses said that the suspect was last seen with the foreman. There after the suspect drove the victim’s Honda Civic out of the camp and disappeared.
Pol. Col. Somneuk Jankate and his team tracked the suspect by checking the social security records since they knew Mr. Sanya had escaped to Prajuabkirikhan where he stayed with his younger sister. He worked as a welder and paid his social security fees.
Pol. Col. Somneuk Jankate brought the arrest warrant of issued by Pattaya Court number: J 264/2554 dated April 19, 2011. In Prachab Khirikhan Mr. Sanya was arrsted and transported to Banglamung police station.
The suspect confessed that he killed Mr. Vimol because he had criticized him and his parents. He beat the foreman to death with a shovel. Stole his property and drove his car to Nong Kai province and then to Hua Hin where stayed with his younger sister in Prachauab Khirikhan province.
The police charged the suspect with manslaghter and theft. Mr. Sanya Jantai has been sent to Pattaya and will be prosecuted according to the Thai law.
