Pattaya, January 16, 2012 [PDN]; Pol. Lt. Col. Chaidit Panyamuensakul, Toongbenja police station arrested Mr. Nareubet Lanbala age 28, address 164 Soi Ladprao Chokchai 2, Wangthonglarng, Bangkok in possession of one pistol, caliber .38, one holster, two magazines and 11 cartridges caliber .38.
Mr Nareubet was detained and taken to Pattaya police station for investigation. Pol. Lt. Col. Chaidit Panyamuensakul said, that the police found out a that a gang was arranging a street car race.

The police did a random check of suspicious young guys in the Muang Pattaya area and found Mr. Nareubet with his fellow racers in a parked car near Matarita hotel Moo 10 Banglamung, Chonburi. The police searched the young men and found that Mr. Nareubet was carrying a gun & ammunition. He was arrested on the spot and the police seized his firearm & cartridges.
Upon investigation Mr. Nareubet confessed that the old pistol was was inherited from his grandfather and he had a license for the pistol.
He said, when he went to see his friends racing in Pattaya he brought the pistol with him for protection.
Mr Nareubet, was charged with carrying a concealed weapon in a public place. He will be further investigated and prosecuted according to Thai law.
