Pattaya, December 21, 2011[PDN]; Pol. Sen. Sgt. Maj. Chatchai Rakkwamchob, Banglamung police station, Chonburi province was notified about a burglar trying to rape a female victim. The incident occurred at Saksit building in a rental room located in Soi Wat Thamsamakkee Moo 13, Banglamung, Chonburi province.
At the scene of the incident rental room # 309 on the third floor the locals had detained the thief; Mr. Arnon Ubolprai or “Ohm” age 17 from 64/1 Moo 10 Tambon Baan Makleu, Nakornsawan province with cash 200 THB and a screw driver. Also in the room was Mrs. Sasiwimol Tamchaona or “Ploy” age 34, department store employee in Pattaya and tenant in the building.
Upon investigation Mrs. Sasiwimol who lived alone said, she was tired and woke up late because it was a holiday. She locked her door and went down to buy water at the shop nearby. She came back 20 minutes later – but was surprised when she saw that the door knob was damaged. When she opened the door she found Mr. Arnon, the thief in her room going through her stuff.
Mrs. Sasiwimol was shocked. She screamed and Mr. Arnon started beating her and tied an electric wire around her neck and dragged her into the room, locked the door and tried to strangle her. Mrs. Sasiwimol said that she would allow him to do anything he wanted.
Mr. Arnon said that he want to have sex with her. If she did not comply he would kill her. Then she asked Mr. Arnon to allow her to go to the bathroom. Now, she managed to ran away. Help arrived. Many people came to assist her and they detained Mr. Arnon.
Mrs. Sasiwimol said that she had never seen the thief before. Mrs. Sasiwimol is married. Her husband works up-country. She stays alone. But she had never before experienced anything like this. She told the police to warn the woman who live alone in case they face a situation like this – they should not fight with the perpetrator because they might be killed.
Mr. Arnon looked like he was on drugs and he confessed that he broke into the room with intention to steal but not to rape the victim. The reason he said was because he was unemployed and had no money. He used to be a dancer at a gay a go-go bar but was fired.
Before the burglary he had monitored the victims routines for two days and noticed that she lived alone. So he parked his motorbike at the parking lot downstairs and saw the victim leaving her room.
He went up stairs and broke into her room. But the Mrs. Sasiwimol came back earlier than expected. She screamed and he tried to strangle her.
The police detained Mr. Arnon checked his criminal record and conducted a drug test. He will be prosecuted according to the law.
