“James Vongpen” Gold Necklace Thief Arrested in Chonburi

Pattaya police arrested “James Nernplubwan” aka "James Vongpen" the leader of a gold necklace pulling gang in Laemchabang area. The modus operandi of the gang pulling necklaces of local Thais and especially foreign tourists.

Pattaya, December 4, 2011 [PDN]; Pol. Col. Somnuek Jankate, Superintendent and Pol. Capt. Kornpong Sukvisit Pattaya police arrested Mr. Nattavuth aka “James Vongpen” age 22, address from 325/3 Moo 5 Tambon Nong Preu, Chonburi province.

Their method snatch gold chains and escape by using a car. An arrest warrant for “James Vongpen” was issued by Pattaya provincial court at 159/2553 dated October 21, 2010.

Pol. Col. Somnuek Jankate said that “James Vongpen” is part of a gang of snatchers from Soi Nernplubwan spending his time stealing gold necklaces off tourists and locals in Banglamung and Laemchabang districts.

During his arrest the police seized three mobile phones and one modified motorbike. The items were kept for evidence.

Later, Mr. Khemin Rungjanwong age 42, from Pluak Daeng, Rayong province, the victim said that his gold necklace weight 8 THB and three golden Buddha amulettes were stolen by Mr. Nattavuth in Central Pattaya.

The police investigated the victims. Mr. Nuttavuth will be prosecuted according to the Thai law.
