Besides raising public awareness of cancer disease and helping needy children, the event which is jointly organized by the Hanoi City People’ Committee and the Embassy of Canada in Hanoi aims to promote friendship Vietnam-Canada. From 2000 to 2010, the Run has attracted nearly 50,000 people, including both Vietnamese, Canadian community and other foreigners in Hanoi, and raised a fund of more than VND4 billions.
Run For Children 2011 calls for participants’ donation to the Heartbeat Vietnam foundation and needy children who are from poor families and under treatment at Hanoi Heart Hospital and Central Pediatrics Hospital. Joining the Run, one can either buy T-shirts or donate cash and objects to support the charity fund.
The Run is not a race; hence, participants can run, jog or walk. Water and coffee is offered freely to participants.
The Run For Children 2011 takes place at familiar place: Thien Quang Lake, in Thong Nhat park, on Sunday, December 4th, 2011.
As anticipated, there will be about 10,000 people participating in the event.
