Pattaya, November 17, 2011 [PDN]; Pol. Lt. Surachok Kungwanvanich, Pattaya police station is informed about a suicide by hanging in a park, in Pattaya City, Chonburi.
At the scene of the suicide near a jogging track the police finds the body of a male dressed in a black athletes shirt and Nike shorts, brown sneakers, white socks and wearing a wrist watch. The corpse is hanging from a tall tree, a rope is tied to his neck and his legs are about one meter above the ground.
The police assumes that he has been dead for circa ten hours . Upon inspection of the site the police finds a bottle of whisky and a pack of cigarettes plus two cigarette butts and a bottle of water on the ground under the dead body.

Next to the tree is a small hand bag and a brown pack-pack. Inside the back-pack a note book with Japanese hand writing, some old clothes, a passport belonging to the dead man: Mr. Isayama Hisatoshi age 61, Japanese citizen. There are no traces of violence on the body.The police keeps all the discovered items as evidence.
The local witnesses say he was a regular who often came to exercise and they say, that they had seen him the night before, running alone in the park. Nobody thought that he was Japanese. The following morning he was found dead.

Initially, the police assumed that the dead person could be a tourist. A pack-packer down and out in Pattaya.Totally stressed out and deeply depressed. So drank whisky, smoked a couple of cigarettes and hung himself.
However, police did not conclude the exact cause of death. An autopsy will be performed accordingly to provide detailed information about the cause of death, suicide. The next of kin will be informed through the Japanese Embassy in Bangkok.

Sorry - the cigarettes, whisky and the hanging all make ZERO sense. Check his lungs - he will not be a smoker. Check his BAC, he won't have touched the whiskey. This is the work of a Thai gang initiation, or of a jilted gay lover, but dismiss, and conclude, it as a suicide and keep the tourists coming.
