Chonburi Worker In Soccer Game Debt Stabs ‘n Steals Gold Necklace

A migrant worker from Amnartcharoen province in debt from football gambling goes to a grocery store, headlocks the store owner, pulls off her gold necklace worth 25,000 THB. Sattahip, November 8, 2011[PDN]; Pol. Lt. Col. Sombat Sophab, Sattahip police station, Amphur Sattahip, Chonburi province was notified about an armed robbery resulting in serious stab wounds at a grocery store located in 31/2 Moo 5 Tambon Bangsarei, Chonburi province.

At the scene of the robbery 20 locals had detained Mr. Yuthapong Peandee or “Kim” age 19. Employed at a tire factory in Laem Chabang industrial estate. Home address: Moo 8 Tambon Raisrisuk, Amphur Senangkanikom, Amnartcharoen province.

Ms. Arom Saengprapai or “Jae Jook” age 37, the owner of grocery store was robbed by Mr. “Kim”, armed with a 12 inches knife, he stabbed “Jae Jook” twice in the chest and ripped a gold necklace, value 25,000 THB off her her neck and stole bags of 5 THB coins and 10 THB coins worth 1,000 THB and 20 and 50 THB banknotes worth 600 THB.

“Jae Jook” was helped by the neigbors and rushed to Queen Sirikit Hospital and transfered to I.C.U. due to severe blood loss.The neigbors Mr. Thongchai Romyen age 50 and Ms. Kallaya Kanuengkid age 59, rushed to see “Jae Jook” after they heard her screaming. They found her covered in blood. She said, she had been robbed. The neigbors called for assistance from the locals nearby to catch the robber.

Mr. “Kim”, the suspect, confessed. He said, he knew the victim was alone. He entered the store. Headlocked the owner and dragged her to the back of the store, ripped off her gold necklace. But the victim resisted, so he thought he better kill her and hed stabbed her twice in the chest and stole the money. And ran away. But “Jae Jook” was not dead – only acting. She ran out of the store and called for help. The robber had escaped with the loot into a forest 300 meter away but was found and restrained by the locals.

Mr. “Kim” said, the reason he committed this horrible crime was because he was addicted to football gambling and was heavily in debt to some gamblers but had no money to clear his debt and was afraid to be beaten up by the debtors.
