Sattahip, November 3, 2011 [PDN]; The Chonburi media was informed by Mr. Kittitat Seangsanau, Sawangrojjanathammasathan Foundation, Rescue Team 431 of a road accident in Bangsarei, Amphur Sattahip, Chonburi province which occured at 21:00 hrs on November 1, 2011 involving a Isuzu pickup truck, Nonthaburi number plates: BOR THOR-4031. The vehicle had collided with a electric pole on Sukhumvit road, kilometer marker 164, Route Pattaya-Sattahip nearby Baan Nernsamakkee Moo 3, Bangsarei.
Mr. Somkid Raparat age 45, Samutsakorn resident, the driver and Mrs. Pulsuk Petchsri age 52, from Buriram province, the passenger, were severely injured. The pickup truck sustained heavy damages. Sub. Lt. Thanasak Prasartthong, the officer on the case said that the wreck of the pickup was left roadside for more than 27 hours without any action being taken by the authorities.
As the news reporter arrived on the scene the heavily damaged pickup truck pierced by a tall electic pole was sitting on the side of the road. Pieces of shattered wind shield glass and diesel fuel had spilled out on the tarmac. The damaged vehicle was a clear danger to motorists and pedestrians due live wires and metal .
Mr. Kittitat Seangsanau, the rescue officer said that after the accident occurred a forklift was sent to tow the pickup truck to Sattahip police station but due to the electric pole which had pierced the vehicle, the officer was afraid of powerful electric currents from pole. So they dediced to have the circuit cut centrally. After 27 hours the wreck of the truck still beside the road. Many people had reported the accident to the police and the rescue units as they thought the accident had just taken place. At least 20 telephone lines were engaged.
The locals ureged the authorities to move the wreck soonest possible to prevent further accidents. The local people say this misunderstanding was a waste of time and police & rescue team resources.
