Chonburi Drink & Drive Accident Leaves Five Gravely Injured

Five Thai guys celebrated getting paid by drinking at the pub. Driving home at high speed the driver fell asleep and their Toyota saloon hit a concrete staircase of a public van parking lot. The impact caused the front wheels to fly off. The passengers and the driver were severely injured.

Sattahip, October 28, 2011[PDN]; The radio officer of Sawangrojjanathammasathan Foundation Rescue Team, Sattahip was notified about an accident involving a Toyota Soluna sedan, black color, license number TOR KHOR-7833 Bangkok. The vehicle had collided with a cement staircase at a parking lot in 47/4 Moo 8 Tambon Na Jomtien, Amphur Sattahip Chonburi province beside Sukhumvit Road km. 162, route Sattahip-Pattaya.

 

At the accident scene. A heavily damaged staircase, the crashed vehicle and it’s two separated front wheels. And nearby the driver and the passengers, five persons all drunk and injured lying on the tarmac; Mr. Saroj Pheunkosum age 23, the driver, Mr. Nitipong Pornsamutchai age 33, Mr. Vorachart Pattanavibul age 33, Mr. Nattapong Thurapat age 26 and Mr. Somyot Kansuk age 30, the most severely injured.

First aid was delivered by the rescue team and the injured were sent off to Queen Sirikit Hospital.

 

Later, Mr. Nattapong one of the passengers who sat in the back seat said, that before the accident happened he and his senior friends went to celebrate and drink whisky after getting paid. They got drunk and all the passengers fell asleep in the car, except Mr. Saroj , the driver who later also fell asleep and caused the accident. After the crash the passengers and helped themselves out of the vehicle until the rescue team arrived at the scene.
