Retired British Nationals in Thailand

Foreign Office Minister Jeremy Browne on his recent visit to Thailand welcomed the British Embassy’s survey looking at the needs and concerns of retired British Nationals living in Thailand. An increasing proportion of the British Nationals that the Embassy assists are of retirement age.

The results of the survey will enable the Embassy to understand the problems and concerns of the retired British community better so that they can help people access information and services that they need. The survey is anonymous so the Embassy cannot pass information about individuals to other government departments and it operates in line with UK Data Protection legislation.

The anonymous survey can be completed online at ukinthailand.fco.gov.uk or paper copies are available from the British Embassy Bangkok, or the British Consulate in Pattaya or Chiang Mai. To allow more people to participate, the survey the Embassy has recently extended the deadline for completion until 30 November.

The Embassy expects to publish a summary of the analysis of the survey’s results on the Embassy website early next year.

Commenting on the survey the Consul Michael Hancock said, ‘this survey is an important tool to provide us with valuable data to help with decision making about the range of services and information we have avaible to British nationals. I would really encourage people to take part. ’
