High-Speed Hit-And-Run Kills Bargirl in Jomtien

A car driving at high speed hits two bar-beer hostesses in Jomtien beach. One woman dies instantly, the other is severely injured. The driver flees the scene. Witnesses saw a white car with the last two digits of the license plate ending with 40.

Pattaya (October 15, 2011) [PDN] Pol. Lt. Col. Thailert Leupeu , Pattaya police, Kong Dongtarn sub branch, Chonburi province was notified about a violent traffic accident with one dead and one severely injured. The accident occurred on Jomtien Second Road near the entrance to Rom Poe market Moo 12 Tambon Nong Preu.

At the scene the police and Sawangboribul Foundation officers found the dead body of Ms. Papussara Chaikaew age 27 address: 90 Moo 12 Tambon Baandaeng, Amphur Pibulrak, Udornthani province a bargirl working in Jomtien beach. The body was lying on the tarmac in a pool of blood. Nearby the police found an unconscious, injured woman, the police assumes she is the friend of the deceased. The Sawangborubul team assisted first aid and she was sent to Banglamung hospital.

The witnesses reported that they saw the two women crossing the road after finishing work. A white car driving at high speed hits the two women leading to one dead and one injured. The eye witnesses do not know the brand nor the model of the vehicle but they remember the last two digits of license number ending with 40.

This was a deadly hit-and-run accident. The car didn’t stop but instead sped up to escape. The police tried to catch the driver but to no avail.

The corpse is at Banglamung hospital awaiting autopsy. The police will inspect the CCTV footage and all the gathered evidence in oder to arrest the driver.

She's not a "bargirl" - she's a "woman". Where she worked had nothing to do with giving her some dignity in this horrible accident - an accident no doubt caused by someone who was drunk, and when caught, will make a minimal payment to stay out of jail, since he killed "only a bargirl". The two women clearly thought they were safe in crossing the road. The drunk driver aspect could not have been factored. The fact is that the driver committed motor vehicle homicide on a WOMAN. No excuses.
