Pattaya’s Miniature Thai Royal Barge Performance Center On Fire

A fire was reported at the Miniature Thai Royal Barge 4D Performance Center in Pattaya. The damage is estimated to several million THB. The fire brigade assumes that an electric short circuit caused the fire.

Pattaya, October 9, 2011[PDN]; Mr. Sanit Boonmachai, City Council President and Na Klua Sawangboribul Foundation, brought more than ten fire trucks to put out fire at the Miniature Thai Royal Barge 4D Performance Center, Pattaya, between Soi Nern Plub Waan and Soi Siam Country Club, Chonburi province.

At the scene of the fire on the second floor of the performance building which is under construction the fire had damaged the center stage including many performance related items.

The estimated cost of the damages could be several million THB since the interior decoration was almost finished for the grand opening due on October 14, 2011.

Witnesses reported that in the evening, a welder came in to weld a rail near the stage. Later, during the night the witness heard an explosion that came from the building followed by flames and smoke.

The CCTV footage will be carefully viewed and witnesses will be examined to determine the cause of the fire.
