Did everyone get a fine for not having insurance??

So, 4 out of 4 drivers not having insurance.......even taking into account the odds of this happening you have be believe that 70-80% of drivers in Thailand are on the road without insurance.

Not a surprise to me!!!

The police threatening jail to someone who does not pay civil damages sounds more like extortion than a legitimate police function. Section 438 of the Thai Civil Code says the Court (not police) determine compensation. This Country is strange.
