Choosak Panusumporn, Superintendent immigration police, Pol. Lt. Col. Prapan Prasarnsuk, Deputy Superintendent together with Pol. Lt. Col. Somchai Detchpare, Pol. Lt. Col. Tachtapong Teasood, Pol.Capt. Prasert Kaewmukda and a police team arrested an American in Pattaya, Chonburi province.
Pol. Col. Athissawis Kamolrat had been cooperating with the U.S. Homeland Security Investigation and asked for assistance from Los Angeles County Sheriff’s department (LASD) Santa Clarity Station to follow up and arrest Mr. John Chi Yuan Lee aged 40, who was born in Taiwan but has American nationality
An American court had already issued an arrest warrant for defrauding 37 victims but Mr. John Lee escaped the USA to Thailand. He was known to have 4 passports.
A suspect was walking in front of Big C department store, north Pattaya and Pol. Col. Athisawis Kamolrat, Superintendent of the immigration police rushed to investigate, It was discovered that he was a Mr.John Lee, the defendant, the police arrested him and co-operated with officials from the US Embassy.
