Pattaya, September 26, 2011 [PDN]; Pattaya municipality together with the Sawangboribul Foundation organized the Pattaya Vegetarian Festival 2011 including a parade of dragons, lions drums and an orchestra marching around Pattaya plus the culinary highlight, hundred booths with vegetarian food and 5,000 free fried rice portions.

More than 3,000 Chinese and Thai people joined the opening ceremony on September 26. In the evening a spectacular grand opening took place.The 2011 festival is on from September 26 until October 6 at the Sawangboribul Foundation in Na Klua district. The colourful and lively festival will feature more than 100 booths selling delicious vegetarian food. The culinary highlight this year is Fried Rice “No. 9” to celebrate H.M. King Bhumipol’s 84 anniversary. There are more than 16 herbs in this auspicious fried rice which will be served free to more than 5,000 people.
