Pattaya (September 22, 2011)[PDN]; Pol. Capt. Jirasak Aebphaeng, Pattaya police was notified by the owner of a grocery store who had shot a burglar robbing his store. The burglary took place at a grocery store named “Siriduangporn” 46/4 Moo 13 Sukhumvit Road 73, Chonburi province.
At the scene of the two story building, the police found Mr. Vinya Robkob age 51, the owner of grocery store with his wife and one employee, waiting for the police. They were all frightened. Upon inspection the police found that the burglar had entered the store through the back door. The police also found cash 2,000 THB left on the floor on the floor next to the cash register.

The police checked at Banglamung hospital, knowing the burglar’s name: Mr.Thanarat Saengjamlung age 18, from Kampaengpetch province. He had gun shot wounds on the left side of his body and had been operated upon immediately. Mr Thanarat was prevented from escaping after the surgery by a police team watching him.
Mr.Vinya, the owner of the grocery store said that before the robbery took place had he closed the store and was sleeping with his wife on the second floor. He heard noises from the first floor and saw that the light was turned on and the burglar pulling out money from the cash register. Then he shouted at the burglar to stop. The burglar refused and tried to escape. The shop owner pulled out his caliber gun .38 and shot the burglar three times.
The burglar escaped by motorbike but fell off the bike screamed and asked the bystanders to send him to hospital.

Mr. Vinya the store owner said that he shot the burglar to protect his life, his wife and his property.
The police assumes that the burglar lives near the grocery store and had planned the burglary for some time. The case is under investigation.
