Mr Vichit Chartpaisit , Provincial Governor of Chonburi said that due to recent severe storms and heavy rains that continuously pounded Chonburi Town, Panusnikom, Koh Chan, Parnthongbohthong, Srirach, Banbueng, Banglamung and Pattaya since the end of August until now, causing severe flooding and immense problems for people working in the fields of agriculture, transportation and fishery.

Chonburi province’s agricultural areas especially in Panusnikom district are still flooded. These lower areas that always more absorb water which causes other Chonburi districts to suffer from the floods.
Chonburi provincial committee assisted the flood victims in the area with 5,000 THB per family according to government policy and distributed 3,000 sets of consumer products and an inspection of the damage to the plants, the fishery and the livestock.

The municipality also provided six water pumps to Panusnikom district and 32 landing craft boats for Panusnikom and Koh Jan district and also setting up four water pumps in Baan Suan, Chonburi Town.
The Thai Meteorological Department is forecasting more rains which can cause more flooding in lower lying areas.
