The Meteorological Department’s announced that on September 11-12 a severe storm will pass the lower northern part, north eastern, central part, and eastern parts of Thailand. More than normal rainfall is expected.
The Pattaya Daily News reported that continuous heavy rains have hit Chonburi since September 10 until September 11 and caused high water levels and flooding all over Pattaya.
Pattaya town, South Pattaya market in front of Wat Chaimongkol, Walking Street, the entertainment areas, Second Pattaya Road, Third Pattaya Road and all the small sois, lanes are flooded because the water masses cannot be released into the sea due to the non-stop heavy raining.
The roads in Pattaya are flooded and the water levels has now reached over one meter in many areas and motorbikes and cars cannot pass through.
When the PDN reporter went to inspect the area around South Pattaya which was hit by a high level of flooding from Friendship Supermarket until Walking Street including Second Pattaya Road. Some vehicles suffered engine failure trying to pass through the flooded roads. Houses and shops beside the water logged streets use sandbags to prevent the water entering their properties.

Besides, some poisonous snakes and centipedes have escaped and entered into the houses. Recently a woman was bitten by a centipede. She survived.
Mr Vichit Chartpaisit, Provincial Governor of Chonburi, and his team are on full alert to solve the flood problem in Pattaya. The team found out that most of the flooding occurred in the central areas where the flood water had reached more than 1 meter,
Mr Vichit said that the continuous heavy rains have caused the water to rise to more than 230 mm. Many areas cannot release the water because new constructions. He added that some if some of the buildings obstruct the water flow immediate action will be taken according to the law.
