Chonburi Road Gas Explosion After Small LPG Truck Overturns

Two air conditioner technicians were slightly injured when a Suzuki LPG carrying truck overturned and caught fire causing a mega traffic jam.

Pattaya-Yesterday (September 1, 2011) [PDN]; A large rescue operation closed the 7th road part 5, entrance to Chonburi causing a two kilometer long traffic jam after a small truck overturned and caught fire in Na kleu, Amphur Banglamung area. The driver and helper were slightly injured.

At scene police found a white Suzuki truck, license number KOR ROR-9147 Bangkok of belonging to NV Switchboard Co.,Ltd. The severly burnt truck had overturned on the shoulder of the road. The traffic police had to close and thereafter together with the rescue teams they sprayed water, chemicals to extinguished the fire. The driver Mr Jeerawat Prapasongsit age 23, and the helper Mr Pongsathorn Thongkamtim age 16, were slightly injured.

Mr Jeerawat said that after they cleaned the air conditioner units at KFC in Pattaya they hit the road for Bangkok. Back to office.While driving in the left lane a trailer truck loaded with cement came in the right lane and scraped the Suzuki truck. Mr Jeerawat honked but the trailer truck did not slow down. To avoid a collision Mr Jeerawat sped up and suddenly the Suzuki overturned and the LPG cylinders caught fire. The Chonburi police will launch a full investigation to find out the real cause of this accident.
