Fake Pattaya Cop Promises Loans With Low Interest

Arrested football referee disguised as a police officer promises low interest rates but demands 10 K THB cash commission. Three women were tricked. The police is on the case.

Pattaya, August 22, 2011 [PDN] ; Police Captain Somchai Chaikananukul, Pattaya police arrested Mr Somchai Namkaew age 39 years address : 17/71 Moo 13 Tambon Nong Preu, Amphur Bang La-mung, Chonburi. The police was notified by Mrs Aranya Chaibumrung age 47 from Takientia, Amphur Bang La-Mung, Chonburi that this man is suspected to have defrauded her and her friends’ money was arrested behind Big C Department Store, North Pattaya while trying to escape.

Mrs Aranya Chaibumrung one of the victims said that a week ago she and Mrs.Niyom Prakorbtham aged 42 and Ms.Nichamon Prommee aged 23 went to Kar Nam pub and were acquainted with Mr Somchai, who told them that he is a police officer in Yala province but came to visit family in Pattaya. Mr.Somchai told them he has a boss who is a high ranking police officer providing loans outside the system with interest rate about 10 percent. Mr Somchai said he is able to negotiate 100,000 THB loans provided he’ll receive a commission of 10,000 THB. Mrs Aranya and friends trusted him and asked for a loan. They gave him 3,000 THB commission and they would pay the balance later.

Mrs Aranya said that she called to Mr.Somchai to come to receive the balance 7,000 THB at Bae-Ka-Din restaurant in Soi Petchtrakul, when Mr Somchai arrived she went to the restroom to call the police. When she came out Mr.Somchai got cold feed and tried to escape on a motorbike but was arrested.

Mr Somchai the fake police confessed that he is a football referee in Amphur Bang La-Mung. After the primary investigation Police Captain Chaleaw Boonkum, would proceed according to the lawsuit.
