The name SEA, FRESH.... FOOD AND GRILL was different and the funky, colorful cartoon logo looked cool.

So we decided, let’s eat here. A charming little ‘hole-in-the-wall’ style, al fresco eatery on Thappraya road opposite the Seat Boat showroom sandwiched between the Mocador coffee shop and a pharmacy.

Stepping inside. A nice clean décor with light blue walls and a dozen tables decked with blue cloth welcomes you. The ambiance is relaxing, sort of European, continental.

And the menu is comprehensive. Everything from the: “ All Day Breakfast” at 99 THB to burgers, steaks, sandwiches, fish, prawns and scampi. And potatoes galore: mashed, boiled, baked , fried and “CHIPS” or “French Fries” as the Americans say.

Plus delicious apple pie, ice creams and crumbles. And a wide, tasty selection of Thai classic dishes: “little” spicy, medium and super-spicy. As you like.

But we decided to go continental: “I’ll try the F & C” the Atlantic cod fillet, fish & chips ( 249 THB) says my companion. I chose the New Zealand lamb chops with minted mash peas and carrots (270 THB).

My Kiwi imported lamb was perfect. Whenever I am bored with chicken and pork, Lamb is my choice. The juicy chops were perfectly matched with the mint and peas. And a glass of wine. Red. Perfect in the late afternoon. My companion was happy with her fish & chips. She said “this is lip smackin’ good!” with a glass of chilled white house wine. (80 THB per glass)

Dessert, of course! Vanilla ice cream and apple pie – 49 and 99 THB respectively. The sun is setting over the Gulf of Siam as we leave the restaurant. My companion says, “this is as good as it gets”. A two person dinner less than 1,000 THB. Net price. All inclusive. No “plus – plus” government tax and service charge. Plus friendly service. I’ll come back for the 99 THB English Breakfast, trust me” She said.
