Pattaya, August 4, 2011[PDN]; Pattaya Municipal Administration, Mr. Ittipon Kunpleum, Pattaya Mayor together with Mrs. Prisana Pongthadsirikul, Director of Contemporary Culture of the Ministry of Culture signed the agreement for the cooperate project to push forward Pattya to be the member of Creative Culture City Network of UNESCO (Pattaya, the City of Film). A Pattaya Deputy Mayor, Officials from the Ministry of culture and Pattaya Senates attended the ceremony.

Mrs Prisana Pongthadsirikul, Director of Contemporary Culture of the Ministry of Culture said that the project aims to make Pattaya to become the center of the Thai film industry. Pattaya city with it’s location near Suwarnabhumi airport and Bangkok, plus beautiful scenery, the poweful economy of the Eastern seaboard, world class hotels & resorts and a plethora of tourist activities. This project would be a new channel of cultural exchange; between Thai and foreign cultures. The project would attract more tourists, as well.

Pattaya would receive the full benefit being a member of this world wide cultural, creative network. The project aims to promote creativity and cultural cooperation on a domestic and and international level.
At the present, the Creativity Culture City Network has 27 cities as members which divided into seven branches; Literature City, Film City, Music City, Local Art and Craft City, Design City, Art Media city and Culinary City.Bradford in the UK and Sydney in Australia are the present film cities. And Pattaya is aiming to become the next film city.
