Pattaya, August 4, 2011 [PDN] Pol.Lt.Col. Pumipat Namputara, Pattaya Police was informed of the death of a Thai man crushed by a garbage truck in front of the Oceanplain Hotel, Soi Pattaya Park in Nongprue.
As the scene, the police found the truck belonging to Kijakarnruamkar company, permit no. 40/2554 issued by Pattaya Municipality. At the rear end of the gabage truck the police found a Honda Wave motorbike; registration KorTorPor 371 Chonburi and the body of Mr Nutthapong Sutsulying, age 39, a motor cycle taxi rider. His head and helmet were crushed by the garbage truck.

The garbage truck driver, Mr Pravin Janthong, age 43, reported to the police that he did not intend to hit the victim. While he was driving into soi Pattaya park to collect the the garbage he saw the victim riding his motorbike out of the lane and swerved his motorbike to avoid a big hole, losing his balance, falling of the bike and being crushed by the garbage truck.
The driver was detained and charged of careless driving. The body was taken to Banglamung hospital and waiting for collection by relatives.
In addition, the locals reported that the road had not been repaired for a long time, contributing to many accidents. The local people want the municipality to repair the holes as soon possible.
