Chiangmai, June 30, 2011 (PDN) Chiangmai police arrested an Indonasian gang who rented a car and to stole money from victims who had withdrawn cash from their bank accounts. They recently stole money from a vehicle belonging to the project of Chaipattana Foundation and the People’s Republic of China.
Pol.Lt.Gen, Chaiya Siriaumpunkul released the news of the arrest the Indonesian gang: Mr Ruslan Bin Mohummad Iwanigara, 45, Mr Jentar Alam, 23 and Mr Husni Yenfari, 39. They were arrested at Imm Hotel in Chiangmai along with money 619,320 THB, a Toyota Vios Registered Kor Hor 5270 Chiangmai, six mobile phones and eight units of two inch awls. All the suspects confessed on all accusations.
The police stated that the gang were from Indonesia. They rented a car to search for victims who just withdrawn money from various banks. There after they followed their victims until their victims parked and got out of their vehicles for their errands. They used the awl to break open the car’s window and stole the victim’s money. Some of the stolen money was transferred to Indonesia.
The Chaipattana Foundation was robbed of 800,000 THB from the foundation’s vehicle when it was parked at the at the Tesco Lotus in Phang, Chiangmai.
However, some of the stolen money had already been transferred back from Indonesia due to the swift action of the Chiang Mai police.
