The Deputy Manager of Krung Thai Bank warned people to be aware of exchanging fake 1000 Baht notes.

Sriracha, 6 June 2011 [PDN]: Somsri Buranawong, the Deputy Manager of Krung Thai Bank of Sriracha Branch, Chonburi advised people to be on alert for counterfeit 1000 Baht bill.

Fake 1000 Baht banknotes had been recently discovered in many provinces of Thailand, Somsri said.
Somsri also educated various ways to recognise real bills from fake ones.

A genuine bill can be verified by the clear watermark of King Phumipol and the surface of the note is not slippery, Somsri added.

The colour of the number 1000 can change when viewed at different angles and the silver strip on the note reflects in many dimensions.

If uncertain of their notes, people can contact any bank in Thailand to verify their 1000 Baht bills, Somsri reassured.
