Pattaya, 28 May 2011 [PDN]: At 1.00 a.m. Pol. Cap. Tanasit Kaenleum (Pattaya Police Deputy Investigator) was notified of a robbery at Mix nightclub in South Pattaya.
Upon police arrival, a Russian thief, Sergey Shulgin, 27 was already restrained by the staffs of the club, an officer reported.
A shoulder bag of 3000 Baht cash, two mobile phones and cosmetic items were found in the suspect’s possession, the police added.
According to the victim, she saw the thief stealing her bag from her table when she went to the dance floor with her friend.
She immediately ran after the thief while yelling out for help, the victim continued. The security guard soon arrived to control the thief before calling the police. Sergey Shulgin confessed to all accusations before taken to the police station for further prosecution.
Editor notes:
Stealing is a crime. The suspect can still be prosecuted even though the victim has dropped charges. However, this does not apply in minor cases such as this theft. When the police are involved in a case, the chances of a suspect being released scot-free is virtually none.
