Pattaya, 26 May 2011 [PDN]: Pol. Lt. Col Chaiporn Natongpien (Banglamung Police Investigator) was informed of a tourist bus and car collision at By-pass road No.33, between Kilometres 15-16 in the direction towards Pattaya.
The Donna International Company coach bus was flipped onto its side with the windscreen and right door detached from the body of the bus, the police reported.

About fifty metres away from the bus, a Honda Civic was found, an officer said adding that the right side of car was severely dented.
Twenty-four Vietnamese tourists boarding the bus were injured. Three groups of nine, eleven and four tourists were taken to Bangkok Pattaya Hospital, Banlamung Hospital and Pattaya Memorial Hospital respectively.
According to the bus driver, he was on his way to The Royal Palace Hotel from Rayong when a car suddenly appeared from the left side-street.

The driver could not stop the bus which ended up swirling onto a strip of grass that separated the two sides of traffic, Sawarawoot Kootwiset, the bus driver described.
On the other hand, the Honda Civic driver told the police that on his way from Bangkok to Sattahip, the bus which ran parallel to his car could not keep its distance and collided into his Honda Civic causing the severe dent.
The police took both drivers to the station for further questioning to determine the reckless driver that caused the accident
