On 26 May 2011, Police Lieutenant Colonel, Greeta Tamkanarat (Deputy Superintendent), the leader of Children & Women Protection Centre and Human Trafficking Suppression team conducted a successful sting operation and arrested three Uganda women, allegedly accused of prostitution in Pattaya.
Three Uganda females, Edith Tasenga Mpomwiza, 22, Teddy Namwanga, 41 and Emilly Nalugo 29 were caught at Marine Hotel in South Pattaya.
Upon interrogation, police discovered four more women involved in prostitution and immediately arrested them at a bar in Walking Street.
The Uganda women confess that they work as prostitutes in Pattaya while they are on tourist visa, an officer said.
The police detained these suspects until they were sentenced
